Claire Herbert started her hairdressing career as a 13 year old Saturday girl who signed up as an apprentice at the age of 16. Claire had a child at the age of 16 and had to leave the salon. Claire started her hair qualification at another provider later on, however this provider ceased working and Claire's work was lost.

At Leicester College where she was hoping she could start a course whilst using the college facilities for the nursery to help with child care. she was fortunate to be eligible to sign up to a Work Place learner and completed an NVQ level 2 within 32.5 hours!  then progressed on to an NVQ level 3 hair and her assessor’s award.

Simply Claires salon in Humberstone Leicester was created  in 2010 and it has been a huge success ever since.
